For the people of Athens and Thessaloniki...

...and anyone else that is fed up with the "solutions" of the local government, IMF, WBG and the rest of the powers to be.

Violence will not do you any good!

Running to the streets trowing petrol bombs and rocks will just give them an excuse to send in more police. Violence just gives them a reason to use violence back and arrest you. Just gives them a reason to allow the police more use of force to shut down protests. It might be the reaction they are after;  Pressure from above, Pressure from below

I can surely understand the rage.

But, while getting outlet for it by storming the Parliament, setting fire to buses and trowing petrol bombs at banks might feel pretty good at the moment, it does not actually help the cause.

Realize the source of the problem.

Labour Minister Andreas Loverdos said: "We have only one aim, to save Greece, and we are not going to budge."
Kindly let me translate to human words: "We have only one aim, to save this nice system of power- and wealth-distribution we got running that keeps us on the top of the food-chain and the common man toiling for us all his life - it seems to be outdated a long time ago - but we like it and believe we can keep it running - we just have to make you work more for less - and we will, and we are not going to budge."

Let us not repeat history but create a future.

Riots die out and revolutions puts new thieves in government and the common man must still spend his life toiling for them. Let us not repeat proved fails. Yes the rage gives fuel for extreme choice's, and we need that. Because the only logical conclusion to the dilemmas of this world is that the system has to go. It has outlived its purpose; if it ever had one. And it seems that the only way that can happen is trough an apparently extreme choice: Quit it.

 Understand your real power.

(This paragraph was added 08 May 2011)

People have to realize the fact that the governments main problem during any riot or revolution, is not that the citizens are out in the streets trowing rocks. The main problem is that because they are out protesting, they are not at work. Your main weapon is not in your ability to be part of the visible protest, but in your ability to shut down the system by not showing up at work. The riots in Greece died out like many others have done before; As the protesters turned to violence and destruction in their desperation, the Government gained a stronger support amongst the part of the population that had not taken to the streets. And this allowing for more use of force, the protests was slowly culled.
The result might have been quite different if the protesters had realized what part of their actions made an impact in their favor; If the main action of choice had been a quiet strike. There was an enormous amount of people in the streets of Athens and Thessaloniki.
What if all these people had decided to leave work and spend this time on a longer vacation visiting friends or family living far away form the city.
The protests direct impact on the government and the system would have been the same, But the apparent effect would be totally different to the rest of the population. Instead of reports of violence and destruction (arguing a stronger case for the government) there would be reports of the effects of a halting system. It would start with the food-stores getting low on supply, and as that happens I would imagine the government would have a hard job gaining support form the population. I do believe that the outcome in that case could have been quite different.

 Yes we can.

The thieves at the top does not posses any power but what we acknowledge them. The money you must work for has no more value or importance than what we apply to it. And the only thing that keeps the system they are protecting running is our toiling. So quitting it is only a choice, just like running out into the street throwing petrol-bombs at banks. Only difference is the first sets you free, the latter creates a whole heap of potential feature problems, not to speak of physical injury or death.

Do NOT let THEM Immanentize the eschaton....
